Led by the its three founding members of Exmouth Kart Club, Peter Arscott, Alan Waddingham and Peter Maier, Exmouth first meeting was held in 1992 on the Light Aircraft Strip south of the town.
The track was marked out with black poly pipe, witches hats and tyres. With a aircraft hanger as the pits and hospitality second to none, Exmouth was the place to be, at what came to be known as the now famous "Prawns and Airport Kart Meeting"
Exmouth Kart Club has never looked back. From those early days they raised the finances to build a class circuit just outside of the town. In 1995 the Shire President officially opened their new track, the opening race meeting was attended by Karters from all over the state, and to this date the Exmouth club still attracts Karters from far and wide to it's meetings.
The canteen food is fantastic and the general amenities are all at hand. With lighting now added to the circuit, night racing is another great experience to be had there.
And speaking of great experiences, when you venture to Exmouth add a couple of days to you stay to see the magnificent Ningaloo Reef with its pristine oceans abounding with seas treasures, make sure you bring your diving gear or if you like hire it locally. And when night falls enjoy yourself with the locals and tourists at some great watering holes. Exmouth is definitely the place to race and bring the whole family for a wonderful holiday.
With weather like this there is no where else you would rather be.
