The Tiger Kart Club in Western Australia will host its premier karting event of the year, the Carnival of Karts, this weekend.

Classes range from the Cadets, where drivers as young a seven will be in action, right through to World Championship-level KZ2 karts.

Headlining the entry list for the 2016 event is 17-time Australian Champion David Sera and reigning European Rotax Max Challenge Champion Pierce Lehane.

The pair are two of Australia’s highest profile drivers in the sport having enjoyed enormous success throughout their careers in many parts of the world.

The feature race on the day will be the Sportsman KA3 class with $2000 cash up for grabs and an epic battle between Sera and Foster expected to keep the crowd on their feet.
Lehane will be competing in the TAG 125 Light class using the new Australian designed PRD Galaxy TAG 125 engine aboard his CRG kart.

More than 250 competitors will be racing in classes ranging from seven year old cadets right up to the senior KZ2 six-speed shifter karts that will reach over 140 km/h on the 1070-metre track.

Former winners of this event include current Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo, Holden Racing Team V8 Supercar driver Garth Tander and Dunlop V8 Series drivers Jake and Kurt Kostecki.

Entry to the race meeting is free of charge, we have face painters for the kids, full canteen and bar facilities and grandstand viewing with some top class racing expected over the two days.

Racing starts at 9.00am both days with qualifications and heat races on Saturday and winner takes all finals on Sunday.

The circuit is located on Gemma Rd Henderson racing on the Tiger Kart Club’s Cockburn International Raceway one of Australia’s finest kart tracks
